What Is Lent?
Lent is a religious observance in the Christian faith, lasting for 40 days leading up to Easter.
During Lent, many Christians give up something that is meaningful to them as a way of spiritual discipline and self-denial.
This could include abstaining from certain foods, such as meat or sweets; giving up an activity; or taking part in service or charitable works.
Even if you donโt follow a religious tradition, Lent can be an opportunity to take a break from certain habits or activity.
This could include taking a digital detox, giving up shopping, or taking part in a self-care practice.
Whatever it may be, the idea of Lent is to focus on what really matters and help bring greater peace and perspective into our lives.

Note: This template is available in both A4 and Letter sizes, as a pdf template. Although 80gsm paper is adequate for most day to day uses, I recommend printing on paper that’s at least 100gsm for the best results, and 120gsm if displaying the printable. You could also use coloured paper for a more personalised style (I love using brown paper!).
How To Use A Lent Calendar
Simply print it off, and you can do a few different things with this handy calendar:
#1 – Countdown To Easter
Track the 40 days of Lent by checking off a square for each day from Ash Wednesday To Easter.
This is a great idea for kids – they can also colour in the printable (and even add a picture of their own for each day which would keep them busy!).
#2 – Track A 40 Day Lent Challenge
A lot of people stop doing something for the duration of Lent, so this is the perfect way to track the days you’ve done, and how many you’ve got left.
