Are the kids asking you ‘how many days is it until my birthday’ every few minutes? They’re going to love colouring in this totally free printable birthday countdown calendar. Put on the wall so they can start to get excited about their big day.

Note: This printable is one of 100+ Free Printables To Make Your Home Life Easier – you can grab them all on this site and start getting organised right now.

This birthday countdown printable is a really fun way to get children engaged with the process of waiting patiently for their big day (if that’s possible!), because it gives them a way to start counting down to that all important day.

In the same ball park as an advent calendar, you can simply print off this birthday countdown, and then let them colour it in and tick off each day as it comes around (they then know exactly how many nights sleep they’ll have to wait).

Ways to display the printable:

You could this calendar template to a noticeboard, or a clipboard on the wall (works really well to let them take it down and have a hard surface to colour on ready and waiting).

TIP: You could also use as a countdown for the party of the birthday girl or birthday boy if this falls on a different day. Especially useful for little kids to help them recognise that there’s a difference in the days.

Note: This template is available in both A4 and Letter sizes, as a pdf template. Although 80gsm paper is adequate for most day to day uses, I recommend printing on paper that’s at least 100gsm for the best results, and 120gsm if displaying the printable. You could also use coloured paper for a more personalised style (I love using brown paper!, but for kids, you could also pick their favourite colour to personalise even more).
