After all – younger children seem to catch every bug going, but their older siblings, who’ve been exposed to all sorts of germs at school, tend to get sick much less often.
Studies show that kids who encounter more germs early on – like in nursery – often end up healthier than those who grew up in super-clean homes.
So maybe a little mess isn’t just inevitable; it might actually be beneficial!
This obsession with sterility could be blinding us to the perks of a more balanced living space, where good bacteria can thrive alongside us.

Now, don’t get me wrong – kicking back and letting crumbs pile up isn’t the answer either!
While it’s refreshing to embrace a bit of natural chaos, we still need to keep things reasonably clean.

Instead of reaching for antibacterial soap every time, why not use good old regular soap? And those harsh chemicals? Maybe they’re best left on the shelf.

Natural cleaners can truly be a win-win!
Sustainable cleaning is also on the rise. Eco-friendly products are popping up everywhere, offering effective alternatives that won’t harm the Earth.
Cleaning can be gentle on both your home and the environment – with a few tweaks.
Clean Smart, Not Hard
Sure, we need to keep our homes clean and our hands washed, but as Grandma always said, “Everything in moderation.”
Why don’t we find a balance between being clean and overdoing it (I’m all for making life easier, however that can be done!).
I’m going to try and embrace natural products when I can, and not stress so much about getting every speck of dust out of the house.
Sounds pretty great, actually!
Yes, regular cleaning can bring a sense of control and peace, but there’s a fine line between maintaining a tidy home and creating a sterile environment that doesn’t feel like ‘home’ any more.
