Themes to try when buying a gift for The Busy People In Your Life…
So – we’ve looked at some brilliant ideas of what to get, but let’s look now at why these make great gifts.
Because – what makes a good gift for a person who’s busy all the time?
Let’s take a look at the main ‘themes’ I always consider to be good ones for families – because these will give you loads of inspiration too…
#1 – Things That Help Them Slow Down A Little
If you’re busy, the only thing you want sometimes is to be able to slow down a little.
But unfortunately a lot of the things we would love to do take too much time to fit into a hectic schedule – so they fall by the wayside.
You can change that by bringing some treats into their home and giving them an easier way to slow down without having to take too much time out.
It’s also a perfect way to get them to start prioritising some ‘me-time’ for themselves.
Some examples of ideal gifts in this category are:-
- Spa Gift Set – A luxurious home spa set with bath salts, body oils, and candles will encourage them to take some well-deserved time to relax and unwind in a calming bath.
- Sound Machine or White Noise Device – A sound machine that plays calming nature sounds, white noise, or ambient music can help create a peaceful environment for relaxation or better sleep.
- Neck and Shoulder Massager – A portable massager that targets tension in the neck and shoulders, offering instant relaxation after a long day.
#2 – Things That Make Life Easier
Another great option are presents that will help them in some way – especially when you’re able to take away something that they don’t really enjoy (and so wouldn’t be missed from their life if taken away).
Some perfect options for this would be:-
- Meal Subscription Service – A subscription to a meal kit service like HelloFresh or Gousto, where they receive pre-portioned ingredients and recipes, saving them time on meal planning and prep.
- Subscription to Audiobooks (like Audible) – For the busy person who doesn’t have time to sit and read, an audiobook subscription lets them enjoy books while commuting, exercising, or cooking.
- Robot Vacuum Cleaner – A time-saving gadget that can help keep their home clean with minimal effort on their part.
- Gift Card for a Cleaning Service – Treat them to a clean home without the hassle – whether it’s for a one-time deep clean or a recurring service, they’ll appreciate the time saved.
#3 – Things To Help Them When On The Go
Embracing the ‘if you can’t beat them, join them’ mentality – why not just allow their busy lives to get easier when out and about?
There are lots of ways to do this – but a couple of my favourites are:-
- Reusable Coffee Cup – For the busy person who you know frequents coffee shops, a stylish, eco-friendly coffee cup they can use for their daily caffeine fix would be perfect. You could even add a voucher for their favourite place as well!
- Portable Power Bank – To ensure their phone or headphones are always charged, even during hectic days when they’re on the move.
#4 – Things That Help Them Focus
Along the same lines as embracing the business, if they can focus more easily on what they’re doing – that may well free up some time for them…
- Noise-Cancelling Headphones – To help them block out distractions and focus, whether they’re working or just trying to relax in a busy environment.
- Subscription to a Meditation App (like Calm or Headspace) – Gifting a meditation app subscription can help them take a few minutes each day to de-stress and reset, even on their busiest days. It can also really help them with focus – which is the aim!
#5 – Things To Keep Them Healthy
When you’re busy, one of the first things you can forget to do is look after yourself properly.
We often find ourselves reaching for fast food or starting other less healthy habits than would be ideal – so why not go for something that will make keeping healthy easier…
- Smart Water Bottle – A smart bottle that tracks water intake and reminds them to stay hydrated throughout the day—something busy people often forget.
- Portable Blender – For quick, nutritious smoothies on the go, a portable blender is perfect for someone who wants healthy options but doesn’t have time for long meal prep.
- Portable Aromatherapy Diffuser – With a couple of essential oils this is a great addition to a car or an office. You could also go low tech and give an essential oil roller instead…
And there you have it! Some fantastic ideas for those busy people in your life…
Whether you want to help them get more done more easily, or slow them down a little – there’s something for everything.
