“That’s Life” – a phrase I hear almost daily for many differing reasons.
Too little time on your hands? That’s life
Too much to do? That’s life
Overwhelmed by something? That’s life.
And it’s true – life does happen and it’s got many twists and turns in it – we’d be foolish to think that everything was meant to go smoothly the whole time. But I must admit it is nice to hear some sayings that put things into perspective a little, especially when you are feeling like you’re drowning in all the stuff you have on.
So – why not take a step back and contemplate some of these, my favourite sayings about life at the moment.
Some are quite uplifting, others state the facts, and I’m sure you’ll find one that resonates with how you’re feeling about life at the moment.
Me? I love the one about creating yourself rather than finding yourself (4th down), as it’s so true that to be truly happy you need to create a life that’s true to you – and this can be always changing, which is kind of exciting!. It also makes you take responsibility for your life, rather than passively searching for how you think you should be living – i.e. creating rather than finding.
I hope you enjoy them, and if you have one of your own to add to the list I’d love to hear from you so please leave me a message in the comments at the end of the post.
“If you don’t design your own life plan, chances are you’ll fall into someone else’s plan, And guess what they have planned for you? Not much” – Jim Rohn
“Life is really simple but we insist on making it complicated” – Confucius
“Life is what happens while you are busy making other plans” – John Lennon
“Life isn’t about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself” – George Bernard Shaw
“My formula for living is quite simple. I get up in the morning and I go to bed at night. In between, I occupy myself as best I can” – Cary Grant
So, which is your favourite?
