How's It Going?
In The A.D.O.R.E Method (the pic below shows the order to follow), you're almost there! - the final step now that you've done the changes AND lived with them for a while, is to take a step back and see whether they are working or not....
This is where you can look at the systems/storage/schedule you've put in place and decide what's working, what needs tweaking, and what needs a complete rethink (hopefully not much will fit into the last category if you've followed the steps of the process!)
It’s SO important not to think of organising as a one time deal – it is a way of life that’s ongoing, and although you won’t have to do the large task of organising your entire home again (unless something significant changes in your life), you may want to change the way things are done as you change your families or homes needs.
People and their needs change year on year, so you must be open to evaluating these systems on a yearly basis (yearly is what I recommend, but also after any major life change such as moving house, having a baby, living with someone new etc…).
You will be able to see some or all of the following benefits to your home life once you have got this far:-
Pat yourself on the back for coming this far!
You will stay in the Evaluating stage for the long haul now – as I firmly believe that being organised is an ongoing lifestyle change and not a quick win.
If you constantly assess what is and isn’t working, then you will be more happy and content with the results.
