{Daily Task #84} – Sort out the mending

Task #84:

Do you have a pile of clothes that need mending? They are useless to you until they are done. Spend an hour in front of the TV tonight getting through as much as you can (or get someone else to do them!)

My Tips and Advice:

This is another of those piles that can build and build in the utility or bedroom, or the back of the wardrobe.

You can’t wear items if they aren’t ready to wear, so they may as well not be in your wardrobe at the moment – so you need to make a decision

Either get them mended, or give them away (charity, recycle etc…).

Before you spend time mending anything, make absolutely sure it’s worth it. You want to maximise the time you spend on these daily tasks, and not do things just for the sake of it.

If you tackle them all one evening while watching a film, you will sprint through them – as you can set up your space so that you have everything to hand – and you’ll feel amazing afterwards as this is one of those tasks that can really weigh you down looking at it all the time.

(It’s also one of the tasks that you can perceive to be a larger, more time consuming one than it actually is)

TIP – if you can’t sew, then you may do more damage trying – so invest a few pounds in getting things mended professionally. While you are there you may want to consider altering clothes that would work better like that i.e. take the hem up on a skirt, add a few centimeters to trouser legs etc….)

How did you get on?
