{Daily Task #39} – Noticeboard Declutter

Task #39:

Declutter your noticeboard.

My Tips and Advice:

Most of us have a noticeboard of some description – whether it be a large cork board in the kitchen or office, or the front of your fridge even.

It tends to be the place where we keep all those random pieces of paper, invitations, letters etc…. that have no other place to put them really – in the hope that we will remember they are there when we need them.

The problem with this is though, that once we start to use it things can get lost quickly – adding things on top of other things is a recipe for those to be forgotten until past their date (invitations, vouchers etc….).

To be able to see what you have, there needs to be less on them in the first place – so if you can’t see everything that you have on your board, its time for a good declutter.

Today, why not simply take down any old invites and postcards etc… that are there that you really don’t need there any longer, and either recycle/throw away, or keep elsewhere – keep only what you truly need on it.

That way you will be able to see whats what more clearly – and only have what you truly need to hand.

TIP – in an ideal world I think noticeboards should be purely for displaying things like certificates, kids artwork, photos etc… – and not for household paperwork – that’s really a job for the Home File!

How did you get on?
