My Tips and Advice:

Food doesn’t last forever in the freezer – so its a good idea to go through it once in a while to see what you have, whats past its best, and what needs eating asap.

Start by taking everything out and checking whether its still OK. Look at the freezing instructions to see how long it should be frozen for, and look at the date on it if there is one there – go by this as much as you can.

Now, go through for anything lurking at the back that’s been forgotten but is still OK to eat – make this a priority for a meal as soon as possible.

Lastly – go through the other stuff and add into your meals for the coming days/weeks.

Its always good to refresh your freezer at times to ensure you aren’t just spending money to store things that you won’t actually eat. It also saves money as you won’t need to buy as much food when you use up what you have already got.

Going forward – if you have time to organise the freezer a little, now is the time to do so.

Have a shelf for each type of food so you can easily see what you have / need  (i.e. meats, fish, fruit and veg, puddings, pre made meals etc…)

How did you get on?
