My Tips and Advice:

If you have anything in your wardrobe that doesn’t fit – it really is a waste of space for you.

You can’t wear it as it will look bad, so all you will end up doing is making the clothes that do fit you harder to find, and more creased by having to be stored with items that you don’t need.

I should point out a few of “Rules” that I use when doing this:-

  • RULE ONE – If you are pregnant or have recently had a baby then this daily task shouldn’t be done until you have reached your usual size again, as your body will be constantly changing and you may need lots of different sizes to cope.
  • RULE TWO – If you are currently losing weight and have items that will fit soon, then keep these.
  • RULE THREE – If you think you may put on weight or lose weight in the medium term, then don’t consider keeping clothes – by the time you get to the size you are heading for, your tastes may well have changed – and also – you may never get to that size and therefore its wasted space.

If you need to – then spend time trying your clothes on, and working out what fits and what doesn’t – this can be quite telling as you may have changed shape without knowing, and clothes that you thought were OK now don’t look good at all.

When you have finished, give the pile of non fitting clothes to charity and get them out of the house as quickly as possible so you can’t change your mind.


Last tip – if you get rid of something, but need to replace it – then add this item to your TO BUY list for next time you are out shopping. You can then replace it with something that fits and that you will actually use.
