{Daily Task #16} Paper Purge

Task #16:

Go through the house and collect ANY paperwork you find (receipts, letters, magazines, junk mail etc….) – add to a box ready to sort out.

My Tips and Advice:

When you have loads of paperwork everywhere it can clutter the house and, more importantly, important documents and letters can go astray.

Draw a line in the sand and get everything together – put it together ready to start sorting it all out.

You can then start from today with a fresh slate – keeping on top of things as they come in from now on more easily.

Extra Tasks:

  • Do a quick sort through of everything first – Discard the obvious junk as this will get rid of a large percentage of the papers, and recycle wherever possible as well (most of what you pile up will be rubbish or recycling, and this will be a great easy win to get most things sorted).
  • Anything that needs to be actioned should be dealt with asap and not piled up again, and anything to file can be put ready to file again when you have time.
  • Commit to dealing with the pile of papers that you have collected, just 10 minutes a day will soon get on top of things. A great tip is to set an alarm daily to remind you to do this until it becomes a habit – pick a time that you can manage most days – maybe do it in front of your favourite TV programmes!

How did you get on?

i lost my first draft and will try another. Lately I’ve tackled my 3 or 4 magazine piles. i have been pulling out papers i want and recycling the rest of the magazine. Since much info can be found online Im choosy about what info i keep. Actually the same goes for most info on hardcopy if its impersonal stuff. . im making litter for my guinea pigs with the paper i shred. Smile.
