It cleans your clothes every day – so sometimes its worth giving it a clean too! The task for today is simply to clean your washing machine.
My Tips and Advice:
Its not only what you can see, but what you can’t see that needs cleaning – so this needs to be a plan of action with a few steps!
1. Clean the detergent dispense drawer/pull out tray
2. Clean the plastic seals in the main machine area
With both of these areas I would recommend antibacterial wipes, and a soft old toothbrush with some all purpose cleaner on it for scrubbing the small harder to reach areas.
3. Clean the inside of the machine (and pipes etc…)
Pipes can get blocked, and the inside workings of the machine can suffer from various things, so over time build up occurs and your machine doesn’t work as well as it could do.
There are many methods of cleaning the inside of the machine – including using bleach or vinegar in the drum and putting it on its hottest setting, but I prefer to use a washing machine cleaner, something like Dr Beckmann Service it Machine Cleaner – just pop it in and run on an empty cycle and voila!
TIP – to prevent mildew forming, always leave your washing machine door slightly ajar when not in use so it can fully dry out
