I love my sleep. Anyone who knows me knows that! – I love going to bed at night and I hate getting out of bed in the morning…
If you have a good night’s sleep, you can do anything! – You are refreshed and ready to take on the world.
So I think one of the most important purchases for your home is your bed, and your mattress.

Our master bedroom mattress had its issues. There was a definite ridge through the centre which made it feel like I was sleeping lower than my husband – weird to say the least! It was definitely NOT giving me the best night’s sleep…
It was time for a change, but to be honest it was something I was putting off.
Mattresses are a large expense, and I didn’t want to get it wrong. (I also don’t like lying on them in showrooms to test them out!)
Procrastination sets in with me when I am not sure about something, especially for a larger purchase that will be used for around 1/3 of each and every day…..
So – imagine my delight when Leesa approached me to let me try one of their mattresses.
I took them up on it before you could say “night, night – sleep tight!”….
I have long been a fan of foam mattresses for their comfort, and most of the beds in our house have them already. As such the Leesa mattress** was the perfect complement and I couldn’t wait to try it.
Leesa pride themselves on being an easy and hassle free online experience (and I’m all for saving time!), so I wanted to try them out and see what the service and product was really like.
Within a couple of days of placing my order, the mattress arrived on my doorstep.
Take a moment to imagine a mattress landing on your doorstep – big, bulky and difficult to get through the door…..
Well – this couldn’t be further from what happened, because it comes compressed in a really small box!
Yes – that’s it – that tiny box. Considering there was a king size mattress inside I was surprised at how small it was.
This made it so easy for my hubby to carry upstairs! It was a heavy box, as it does contain a substantial mattress – but because it wasn’t mattress sized it wasn’t in any way awkward to carry or manoeuvre.
Basically it comes all compressed and rolled up…
I was able to easily unpack it myself, and they suggest you unwrap it on the bed itself: –
I still couldn’t quite see how it would create a king size mattress at this point – can you?!
Once I had it all rolled out, all I had to do was cut off the plastic – and this was the best bit – it was so quick to expand – it took just a minute or so to get to this: –
A proper mattress!
They say on the box that “In an hour your bed will feel good, in a day it will feel great” so we left it for a day to expand fully (while sleeping in the guest room – a good chance to try that out as well!), and then this was how it looked: –
I must say, the detail on the mattress is gorgeous. It looks and feels too nice to actually cover with a sheet! (although of course, I did!). It shows a massive attention to detail and makes it feel really special and luxurious.
And the comfort – Oh the comfort!
It’s like sleeping on a cloud.
I have some back problems and so I am very cautious of how I sleep – and I haven’t had any issues at all as yet – I don’t anticipate any either.
Along with loving the actual mattress, Leesa are a company I like the sound of as well, because they also give back a lot (you can see more details on their site), including donating a mattress to charity for every 10 sold, and every time they sell a mattress they plant a tree.
I also loved the fact that Leesa recognise that people may be put off by buying a mattress online, and so they offer a risk free 100 night trial for every mattress. My worries of buying such an important product online rather than seeing it and trying it in a store were minimised as a result – especially when I found out that if you return it you get a full refund and as a massive bonus they will donate the mattress to charity.
Overall there isn’t anything I have been unhappy with about the mattress, from ordering and delivery right through to how I sleep – I love it!
A mattress is one of the most important purchases you can make because – after all – a good night’s sleep really is one of the essentials of life…
What mattress do you currently sleep on? I’d love to know, so please leave a comment below….
